"Nature Through The Lens / Invited Photos Only"

We sadly lost our 12 y.o. beautiful female black GSD, named Echo, to cancer on 31 October 2012. She had a wonderful temperament and a knowing nature. She was not just a dog, she was an apprentice human! We also sadly lost my Mother-in-law four days after Echo, which was another big shock to the system. Fortunately we also had a rescue female German Shepherd born 2006, named Sheba - a gorgeous black and tan, with a gentle and loving nature, and in August 2013 we adopted a black long-haired German Shepherd born 2009 named Kizzy. She only has one eye as when she was 2 years old she accidentally got hit in the eye with a golf ball. The eye was saved but the sight was not. However, she has fully adapted to her situation and she doesn't miss a thing! In November 2015 we sadly lost my beautiful Sheba to cancer, and Kizzy was lost without her, so we adopted Zara, then a 2 year old white German Shepherd on New Year's Eve 2015/2016 who had not been well treated and we soon overcame various issues with her. When we got her she was underweight, undernourished and a petrified little girl. She soon totally trusted us and we could do anything with her, but she was initially very wary of people and dogs she didn't know. Time, patience and love was the healer for her and we have excessive amounts of each of these requirements, but these things take time. At the end of 2021 we thought we might lose Kizzy over the Christmas period, and knew Zara would miss her terribly, so we got a 12 week old white German Shepherd puppy, who we named Misty. However, Kizzy not only rallied, but lasted another 2-1/2 years and we finally said a sad goodbye to her in March 2024, aged 14-1/2 years.

We have lived in our current home since late 2002 and spent the first 5 years renovating, decorating, re-roofing and garden landscaping. We now enjoy relaxing, living life with our dogs, and being able to follow our hobbies when we can.

I am an avid amateur photographer of mainly Nature, Floral and Landscape subjects. You are welcome to view, comment, criticise and recommend your thoughts on any of my photographs. I can only learn from those that know better and I am always keen to improve.
