After being the photographer for our high school year book and taking a lot of photos for fun over the years, I put the camera down for a few years. With the advent of good digital cameras at a reasonable price, I bought a Nikon D70 in 2004 and haven't looked back. I've since had two D200s, and D300, and a D3. I mostly shoot now with the D3 and use my D300 as backup. Of course there are a host of lenses and flashes as well.
I'm now working as a professional photographer in the Kansas City area in the center of the United States. I enjoy portraits of all types (family, children, high school seniors, etc.) and I shoot weddings and other events as well.
I've also discovered that I really like food photography. It's such a fascinating subset of photography, and it's endlessly challenging.
Flickr has been such an influence on my path to professional photographer. The amount of talent on Flickr is staggering to the mind, and I've found so many people that are willing to share tips, critiques, and kind comments.
