Jonathan S Farley is an accredited Archives Conservator, Bookbinder and Paper Maker.

 

Jonathan started training as a bookbinder in the early 1980s, gaining both an ONC and an HNC. While working as a binder, he also learned the crafts of papermaking, composting and printing. While running his own bindery, Jonathan also worked in his father's art studio, undertaking line work and paste-up.

Having gained practice in the skills he had acquired, Jonathan then went on to train as an archives conservator, gaining an HND and an MA.

Jonathan has worked for a variety of institutions and for twelve years, has been the senior conservator at a world heritage site. He has recently overseen the art conservation of a £3million Heritage Lottery Funded project.
