Flickr is where I post my photographs of travels, the natural world, weird and interesting sights. I don't cull as many sub-par shots as I should, because as a visual person, these are my memories. Every now and then I end up with some that feel like art.

I started watermarking/branding my images with the word simulacra because it seems an appropriate handle for my photographic output, given all the things I’ve read by people like Jean Baudrillard, Walter Benjamin, and Roland Barthes: Photographs lie. That is, they are partial, rhetorical statements about the world, not simply (or even ever) just records of it.

The fine print: For non-commercial uses, please only use my images in accordance with the liberal licensing I have applied to them. Preferred attribution is "Image by jsclark.net." If possible, include a link back to the original image on Flickr. One-time, non-exclusive rights for commercial usage are available for most photos at $25 per image. Please contact via jsclark.net.
