My inspiration comes from paintings and the seemingly endless possibilities that medium provides: colors, textures, subject matter and their treatment by different artists and through periods of time. It is my take-off point for photography. The initial image, captured, is a first step and point of departure. The direction of that first step is determined by the apprehended image. The journey is one that involves both experimentation and exploration. Guidance comes from two of Josef Albers (artist and teacher) lessons:

1. Take three colors and turn them into four.

2. Draw the spaces between the chair legs.
