I've been a photographer since the '70s, mostly amateur, occasionally for hire.
I first learned the basics of photography on my mother's pre-war Rollei 4x4. My first camera of my own was a Pentax K-1000, but that got left behind after a year in India, and I moved up to the Olympus OM-1, and stayed with the OM-family, up through the OM-4Ti. While those were my 35mm workhorses, I also played a bit with medium format, 6x7 and 6x9, including a beautiful 70mm roll-film back on a Mamiya Press that could handle aerographic infrared film. My favorite medium for many years was infrared film, but then I gave up my darkroom space for children. Now my photography is entirely digital, from cell phones to SLRs.
I got back into infrared with a Fuji IS-1 infrared-enabled camera. It was aimed at forensic/investigative markets, but it's a convenient prosumer-grade camera that comes from the factory ready to shoot IR out to almost 1000nm.
Please note that many of my pictures have Creative Commons licenses, but others do not. That's not usually an accident, I did not simply forget to change the license. If you would like to use one of my All Rights Reserved photos, please contact me. I'm happy to license use, sometimes free for non-commercial use, reasonably-priced for commercial use. But I don't take kindly to unauthorized use, especially if you've chosen to exploit photos of my family. So please, ask first if you want to use a photo that isn't already licensed for your intended use. It will save us both some unpleasantness.
