Hi, my name is Joy. Thanks for stopping by.

I think photography is about noticing: light, texture, detail, nuance. I find beauty in ordinary scenes, especially within details of nature. Through images + words, I try to convey beauty, awareness, and emotion to my viewers. Always, I welcome company on this path.

PS: For more on my philosophy of photography and life, here's an article I wrote for Bella Grace magazine: It’s Not About the Equipment.

A rare type of gallery in which every photo is worth your time and attention! A collection of fantasting macro works showing great appreciation for beauty hidden in small details of everyday reality. I will sure be coming back for more inspiring shots :).

Joy’s photos are like magic spells, casting over me a sense of serenity and hope. She posts a photo almost every day—sometimes she posts two!—and when I see them, I feel like I’ve communicated with a traveling companion whom I’ve never met and know next to nothing about, yet whose presence I feel on the path beside me, and who I feel I understand on a deeply emotional level, where all the best magic comes from. She almost always writes a few lines about her photos, which have the meditative quality of poetry, and which always leave me purring contentedly. She writes in the humble lowercase. She wouldn't want to be misunderstood. To walk her path is to embrace both the light and the dark inside yourself. To treat yourself gently means learning to hold your own hand. I’m grateful for your company, Joy, and for those days when you lead the way! :)
