Transplanted Alaskan originally from rural New Jersey, I find serenity in lonely places, nature and decay. I work in healthcare and working with chronically ill and dying people is an incredible privilege, but as a person on the autistic spectrum, I find it extremely draining. The solitary time I spend alone in nature and ithe rare decay and abandonment I find in Alaska brings me peace.

I don’t upload nearly as much as I used to because I’m too busy living… I have a backlog of about 10 years of photos. Our planet has so much beauty if we would just pause to breathe, look and processes what surrounds us and the meaning of it all.

Bitter Girl seems to have great knowledge about plants. She always drop by to my photostreams to provide information of the ID of my plants that I do not know what they are. Very brilliant lady. Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge.

this lovely, charming, funny, caring, loving woman underestimates herself and her capabilities. her photography is excellent because she shoots with her "heart." her friendship is a true gift, a prize. she is empathetic, insightful, bold, intelligent, wise and a great smart ass... i wish there were some action i could take or words i could speak that would make a positive change for her and i know she feels the same for me. impotent though friends may be, friendship is still a beautiful thing. i am very pleased and warmed to have this "Bitter Girl" consider me a friend and i hope that her photography helps her see her own need/reason to break free of the things dragging her down, and that she has the right to do so. excellent as her work is, it speaks loudly of the trapped Joy within the Bitter Girl. she has made me laugh and warmed my heart. i am filled with warm and affectionate feelings for her, and the desire to hold and soothe. she is more than the decay in her recent photos and deserves none of the blame she lays at her own feet. Fly, dear girl fly
