Joshua Z Weinstein is a cinematographer/director whose work has broadcasted on HBO, PBS, and BBC. He recently was the director of photography and co-produced of Code of The West directed by Emmy nominated director Rebecca Richman Cohen. Code of The West will premiere at SXSW 2012.

 

Weinstein was a field producer and cinematographer for Morgan Spurlocks Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fans Hope which premiered at TIFF 2011 and will be in theaters April 2012. He was the cinematographer for Give Up Tomorrow which won the audience award and special jury prize at the 2011 Tribeca Film Festival and was broadcasted on the PBS series POV and BBCs Storyville.

 

Weinsteins cinematography credits include a new PBS series directed by the Emmy nominated team Aron Gaudet and Gita Pullapilly, Chiemi Karawsawas Elaine Stritch, two time Sundance award winner Havana Markings Smash and Grab, IFC Films First Position, Romana Diazs Everymans Journey, and a secret project from Participant Media .

 

Flying On One Engine, his feature documentary debut, premiered at the SXSW 2008 and was featured at Best of the Fests at IDFA. Flying On One Engine was broadcasted in Germany, Sweden, Poland, Estonia, and Israel. The film won the Estonian Peoples Award, the Audience Award at the South Asian International Film Festival, and Best in Scene from the Brooklyn Arts Council.

 

Weinstein has directed and photographed commercial work for Audi, Minute Maid, and Cal Haan.

 

Weinstein is a 2005 alumnus of Boston Universitys College of Communication Film department. He is an alumnus of the CPB/PBS Producers Academy at WGBH.
