Activist—Missing Persons, Human Rights—Vancouver Missing & Murdered Women. I have been an activist most of my life without realizing it. In my early days in the workplace, I helped bring unions into my workplace as part of the union executive. I became involved in the Vancouver missing women case in 1998 when a close friend disappeared on the Downtown Eastside, and I have continued my activism to the present. I started the first Missing Women website, www.missingpeople.net , on January 15, 1999, which ended twenty-two years later. I started the Yahoo Group, #Vancouvermissing-not forgotten group, and the Blog, Missing and Murdered Women, missingwomen.blogspot.com/ I also started a Flickr photo account and included the missing and murdered of Vancouver with the stories and photos of these women. www.flickr.com/photos/joshuatree/ Interested in missing people, science, nature, climate change, technology, the brain and US Politics.
