I purchased my first digital camera in 2005. I studied photography and graphic arts prior to raising a family, now with them all grown, I am revisiting an old friend. Photography has so many layers and choices. Whether thinking about mood, composition, or final print, the creative process is boundless, provocative and challenging all at once. Yet the irony of it all is that the best photos are intuated not pondered. Found by luck probably more so in my case. And although I'll have a camera in hand, moods and emotions are the only real snapshots worth taking. Landscape photographers stand behind a lens in cold, wet, dark, morning or blustering late afternoon waiting for no payoff sometimes. Yet walk away feeling like there is no where better to be. Strange lot, photo-takers are. Cheers to Flikr for this space.
