Amateur photographer, still with much to learn.
I see photography as both an art and a science, and it can be fun to learn about it through practical experimentation.. Here's one of me measuring depth of field for instance!!! LOL :-D
I love the great outdoors, especially hill walking and wild camping so I am naturally drawn toward landscape photography, but I'll try my hand at virtually any subject.
Anything with patterns and shapes tends to catch my eye. If the photographer has the eye to see it, I believe a striking image can be composed from virtually any subject, even the most mundane of everyday objects!

Life can seem very chaotic at times, but the world goes round like clockwork. Think of the annual cycle of the seasons (unless you live at the equator! LOL!), the rising and setting of the sun and moon, or the predictable ocean tides. Seriously now, could such order really come about from a cosmic accident? Hmmm. As Edwin Conklin once put it, there's as much chance of that as the unabridged dictionary resulting from an explosion in a printing shop!!
No matter what you believe that way, this world is undoubtedly a very beautiful place. But you won't see much of it sitting at your computer or on the sofa watching T.V!! Take a walk close to home and you might just be amazed by what you see there. And don't forget your camera! :-)
Whether it is a golden sunset or a face in the clouds, the opportunities for photography are endless.
Every photograph captures a unique moment in time, which will never be repeated. But each shot only shows a given moment from that photographer's unique perspective. What I find particularly fascinating is how 2 or more people can return from the same scene with very different results. Everyone has their own individual style. So many angles, so many focal lengths, there is an infinite number of photos that could ever be taken! Anyone who ever says they have run out of subject material must have lost their imagination!!

Howdy to my dear friend across the pond! ;~) I met Jonny by accident here on Flickr... I believe one of us posted on the other one's image at some point and the rest is history! He invited me to join a couple of groups that were fav's of his, as well as invited me to participate in a photo challenge (or vise versa)... I accepted and had such FUN getting to know him as well as a couple of his other dear Flickr friends, such as Robby, who is now also a very dear friend of mine as well... like souls seem to find one another I think.... I know he's the kind of friend who will be there my lifetime through and I anxiously look forward to that little treat! I love his wit and sense of humor and I truly enjoy his sunset images especially! We share a love for those too I believe.... Hopefully I will make it "across that big ole pond" one of these days and I will get to meet him in person... I know he would be a fun person to meet and toodle around with and take pics! I'm very happy to know you my British Buddy... Big Hugz!!

Jonny doesn’t leave you guessing about his images–he thoughtfully provides captions and brings you to that moment when he took that particular shot. Waiting for his daily uploads is like waiting for your daily subscription of milk (no I won’t say newspaper because it’s not always filled with pleasant stories…LOL)

Well, it is my pleasure and honour to do so. Jonny's sense of humor always leaves me smiling, and on many occasions, laughing out loud. His love of the outdoors and the natural surroundings is evident throughout his amazing photostream, and he conveys his passion of the wilderness so well.
