I am an artist and photographer from Birmingham Alabama. I have been a photographer for a relative short time (8 years) but have found it to be my favorite medium. I first started taking shots with an Olympus Omega 35mm and trained myself. Now I shoot with two Nikon DSLRs (D70, D40X).

My photos fall into two categories. One is landscape which embodies my travels and the images that I felt drawn to record. Be it for esthetics or for the stories they convey, there is a clear symmetry to my work. Influenced by the photography of Adams and the paintings of Estes and Hopper, I look for textures and a chaotic order in my landscapes.

Second is my journalistic photography in which I record a momentary expression or situation that seems in concert with the subject or environment. In these I am drawn to the subjects that hold relevance with my own passions, fears, and hopes. But one clear commonality seem to come up in much of my work; optimism.
