It's all about the light...

I've been fascinated by photography since I was a child in the late 1960's, influenced by my father who was a hobbyist photographer. I started shooting in the mid 1970's with my first camera, a Nikkormat FT2. I shot film for about 26 years, with my favorite manual film cameras having been the Nikon F3HP and Fujifilm GSW690ii. I transitioned to digital around 2001 with the Canon Powershot G1 (3.3MP) and then a Canon 10D (6.3MP) in 2003. There have been countless adventures with various camera brands since then as I sought to find a camera that was intuitive and didn't get in the way, and since 2018, with the Fujifilm GFX, I think I have found that camera.

I enjoy every minute of looking through a viewfinder whenever the light is right, and feel no different today than I did as a young teenager in exploring the world around me while observing and capturing scenes that elicit an emotional response within me. But like my father before me, I do it for pure enjoyment, both for myself and hopefully for other viewers of my work.

Thank you for visiting, and "favoriting" or commenting on any of my images, it is sincerely appreciated. I enjoy the Flickr community and all of the wonderfully talented photographers here who inspire me to get out there (away from my computer!) and capture the light.

All the best,

Jon
