It's hard to find a point to begin when there is so much to be said. Therefore, maybe it's best to start by simply saying that Jon is a true artist. He not only experiments with style and processing, but does so in a manner that is successful--that is interesting. iPhone in hand, Jon allows viewers a chance to step inside his mind and see the world as he does, and what a fantastic ride it is. The innate ability he has for interpreting the things around him is nothing short of stunning, as evidenced by his many fantastic diptychs (which include the iconic "Flag" photo). Also, where many iPhoneographers have a tendency to quickly churn a photo through an app and upload it, Jon not only demonstrates his patience and knowledge of a given app through his careful and (seemingly time intensive) post-processing process, but he masterfully processes a given photo through various apps to create photos that can only be described as art. His "Medical Malpractice" photo is only one of his many photos I often revisit for inspiration. However, like more great artists should, he gives back. His consistent comments and been more than the hackneyed "nice" or "well seen." They have been thorough. They have been encouraging. Simply put, Jon has not only made me a better photographer, but, more importantly, he has helped me to see the world in a different way and, for that, I will always be grateful. Thank you my friend. Thank you.
