My dad introduced me to 35mm photography and the joys of home processing in my teens with a Russian rangefinder and subsequently a Zenith E and I’ve been a keen amateur photographer ever since. I moved on to digital photography around 2010 with DSLRs and more recently mirrorless systems.
My main motivation for taking photographs is to get to connect with our countryside and wildlife and, like many photographers, I 'see' more when I have a camera with me. My favourite subjects are landscapes, with a particular interest in the sky, weather and water (coastal, estuary, river and reservoir) including images taken whilst on the water. I have experimented with other genres and techniques including mono, macro, low light, long exposure and action. I also enjoy drawing the best from an image in post-processing.
I'm a Licentiate of the Royal Photographic Society (LRPS) and a past member of the BBC, West Wickham and Tandridge Photographic Societies. The images you see here are a mixture of my landscape photography images and those of a more day-to-day or experimental nature, including a lot of images taken with a Go-Pro or waterproof camera while out kayaking. I hope you’ll enjoy browsing my collection. I welcome feedback so do please feel free to leave comments!
