Got my first DSLR in 2008 and now, in early 2013, find myself very much on a learning curve and in awe of some of the much superior pictures taken by people who have started later than me. However, still enjoying learning - and taking pictures of a variety of subjects.

As my name implies, I was in the Royal Navy - a long time ago! I took many photos back then of places all around the world, (in those days, people were amazed at some of the places we visited; now they say "Oh yes; I was on holiday there last week! "; how the world has changed! - mobile phones had never been heard of and we sent messages by morse!), but as that was in the days of film and our wages were so low, I never got any developed!

Met my wife, sister of a shipmate, whilst in the Navy. I think we are in it for the duration!:)

I currently work as a volunteer guide on HMS Warrior in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and as a volunteer on the IW Steam Railway.
