My introduction to photography was through my Dad's Pentax K1000 kit. The kit is still usable today. Current bodies consist of a Canon EOS-1N, 1D, 1DS, 30D, Pentax K1000 (2X - that need servicing), Chinon CE5, Zenza Bronica ETRSi 645 and a few Panasonic LUMIX m4/3 bodies. Primes, zooms and flashes complete the gear for this hobby.
