I got my first camera, a Canon AE-1, when I was 10 years old. I just fooled around with it until I worked for the paper and yearbook in high school and got more serious about it. After that I just dabbled. More recently, the digital revolution combined with my heavy graduate school schedule made it the ideal hobby again. Since 2007, I've been practicing, shooting almost every day, and hoping to make that subtle transition into art.

I use a Canon Rebel XTi with 10-22mm, 28-200mm, 75-300mm, 35mm, 50mm, and Diana 38mm lenses, and a Canon SX100 IS. Recently I upgraded to a 5D Mark II and a 70-200mm f/2.8 L, but I shoot most frequently with my iPhone
