'Neill & Summerhill: 100th Anniversary edition'

2021 is the 100th anniversary of A.S. Neill's democratic school, Summerhill. I'm currently editing a new edition of my Penguin book on the school from 1969 which I hope to publish Oct/Nov 2020.

I'm taking part in several online exhibitions during lockdown up and down the country. Will post URLs here once I know them.

 

Freelance documentary photographer for 50 years. My work, in one form or another, is at the National Portrait Gallery, Tate Britain, the National Art Library at the V&A, the V&A Museum of Childhood and la Biblothèque Nationale de France, Paris. Member of the National Union of Journalists and the Society of Authors. For 7 years I was a part-time lecturer at the Architectural Association School of Architecture, London. Have always had a particular interest in education. Worked for 35 years with the writer, Leila Berg, on many books about childhood, how we treat young people, plus numerous story/picture books to be read at home, snuggling up with parents. Author of 'Neill & Summerhill: a man and his work', about A. S. Neill and his democratic school, Summerhill.

 

Work published in over 1,000 books worldwide.

 

Member of a small group of photographers who actively pursue people who copy our work and publish it without permission or payment. Give talks on this to students so they understand their options when protecting their own copyrights long term.
