"It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see"

Henry David Thoreau

My earlier images (pre October 2006) were shot on film and scanned with a Nikon Super Coolscan 4000 ED scanner. They were shot with various Nikon bodies (FTN, FM, FE, F3, F100) and Nikkor lenses. Currently I am shooting with a Nikon D800e with the same complement of lenses. They are:

24-70

70-200 VR f2.8

16-85 DX f3.5

17-35 f2.8

28 mm f2

55 f2.8 Micro-Nikkor

105 Micro-Nikkor

200 mm f4

500 mm f8 Reflex-Nikkor (slow, but inexpensive and light!)

I prefer the prime lenses for there clarity - the zooms are good, but not as good as a prime. But they're convenient.

I started out as a kid using a Nikon and have been reluctant to change brands because the Nikkor lenses seem so good and reliable. If I were a gajillionaire, I'd switch to Hasselblad in a New York minute. Love those Carl Zeiss lenses. Don't mind the format, either.

I rarely travel anywhere without my ball-head tripod. Even on a long hike. I took hundreds of blurry slow-exposure images as a youngster and try to avoid this at every opportunity. Subsequently, I've been making a lot of HDR images with Photomatix and HDR Soft from NIK Software.

My photographs do not contain any beef products treated with ammonia or other chemicals. No snouts or ears or lips. Good for you and good for your children.
