I am an amateur photographer who especially enjoys wildlife and nature photography, but occasionally explores other themes. I am moved to capture fleeting moments in nature - those split seconds when the natural world reveals some small piece of splendor that often are missed and pass too quickly.

I use Canon equipment and am now shooting primarily with a Canon 7D with a camera bag that includes Canon 400 f5.6, 17-55 f2.8, 100 f2.8 macro, and 40 mm pancake; Tokina 11-16 f2.8, and Sigma 30 f1.4 lenses. I previously also owned a Canon 100-400 zoom and many of the earlier images on my photostream were taken with that. The photos on my photostream were taken using 20D, 40D, 50D, and 7D bodies. A number of the photos taken on the water in Florida were taken from a Current Designs Whistler kayak.

At times when I am not out capturing images,my time is spent as a faculty member and academic administrator at the Colorado State University.
