John has a joy behind the lens that he can barely contain. His approach to photography is refreshingly amateur, in that he doesn't aspire to more than pursuing that joy. His results, however, are undeniably professional. He has pursued a range of diverse subjects and compositions that still somehow resolve into a body of work that is both stylisticly consistent and risky in his willingness to try new things. John once told me that he wouldn't want to shoot professionally because client expectations and the profit motive might threaten the love he has for his hobby. Having seen him work several times, I find that incredibly hard to believe.

I don't actually know DJ Xtreme Audiophile in person, but through the IB connection I already feel like I know much more about him than I actually do. Something about being worked to the bone for four years does that to you. Anyways, I would sum up the majority of his pictures as inspirational, diverse, creative, and very artistic. Those who say that photography isn't true art just need to look at his photostream to be proven wrong.
