Editor, typographer, book designer, writer on typography and design, and currently program manager with Microsoft Typography. Although I was raised in New York and Massachusetts, I have lived most of my life on the West Coast; I consider myself a local in Seattle, San Francisco, and New York. I speak French, some Italian, some Spanish, and smatterings of several other languages, though I have only once given a talk in another language (French). I am also the current president of ATypI (Association Typographique Internationale). I live in Seattle with the writer Eileen Gunn.
