When I think about it I've been interested in photographs all my life, as a boy I'd take pictures mainly of trains, and trams and occasionally buses. As I grew up and my interest in 'things transport' gained a hold I took more pictures of trains and trams! Then came the family - so like most doting dads I took lots of pictures of children, aunts, pets and holidays.
In my professional career in advertising and marketing photography became a 'tool of trade'. But other people always took the shots.
But I was never a 'photographer'!
Only recently have I taken an interest in what makes a good shot, so I'd borrow my wife's cameras and practise. Even more recently I migrated from the 'point and shoot' variety camera to a digital SLR, now I have a D90 and a D610. I also have a Nikon A1000 and a P7700. And just recently I bought a Fujifilm X30. Now all I have to do is practice!
I'm not a photographer yet - but I'm learning and loving it!
And I still take pictures of the family, holidays, trains, trams, buses and pets, but they are much better now!
Feel free to wander through my photostream - but a reminder that my photogtaphs are copyright, so please don't copy or use them, or call them your own!
I like my work to be my own.
