Former chemist retired. Interested in all aspects of digital photography on an amateur / hobby basis but primarily nature, close-up, abstract, and post processing techniques, and most recently infrared. What I enjoy most is when I'm surprised by an interesting result that's unexpected and unplanned, where I feel I played a role in it but only a secondary one. I also have come to enjoy images as objects in their own right, independently and apart from the circumstances in the moments surrounding their creation.
