Bilaterally symmetrical humanoid, male of the species. In another life I was the Senior Assistant Head of Centre at Dale Fort, a marine and coastal ecology Centre run by the Field Studies Council. Now I am a freelance coastal ecologist, tutor, writer and photographer.

 

A full update to "Photographing Pembrokeshire by John and Sally Archer-Thomson", 3rd Edition was published in December 2018, available from Apple's iBooks. For those with a Monty Python/Black Adder heritage try "The Chronicles of Larry Vol 1&2" for a guide to the rocky shore through the eyes of a rather deranged limpet called Larry (Lulu.com or Amazon).

 

In February 2019 "Rocky Shores" by John Archer-Thomson and Julian Cremona was published by Bloomsbury as part of their British Wildlife Collection.

 

In April 2020 "Skomer Island- A natural history guide" is published, available from Apple iBooks, with half of all sales going to the Wildlife Trust South and West Wales to help with revenue losses courtesy of the Covid-19 lock down.

 

Over the years I have written 22 articles for the Nikon Owner magazine. Article 22 in issue 82, March 2024, is about puffins and one of my favourite shots features on the cover.
