I'm a gerontologist. My practice is in community development where I'm concerned with the processes and dynamics of ageing, and the needs of older people. I live in north London with my partner of twenty-five years. We walk, swim and garden together. I have an adult son, and two adult step-sons. I play the clarinet and can blunder through the second Brahms sonata. Since 1979 I have written poetry, and commentary on jazz, for my own interest.
