Background: I've souped miles of film and spent literally thousands of hours in the darkroom working for a large aerospace company in the Midwest. I began working with Adobe Photoshop before there were layers (ver. 2.5) and ended my working career as Webmaster of the Communications Department.

Current Work: I now make a few bucks tutoring Photoshop and build websites as a freelance web designer.

Since joining Flickr (November 13, 2007) I have become inspired by a number of photographers worldwide and my goal is to learn from them to improve my own body of work. I sincerely welcome honest critique and I'm more than willing to share my experience/knowledge with those who love the art.

I have purposely allowed my photographs to be viewed in “large view” so my Flickr friends can appreciate the full quality and detail of each image, however, all of my work is copyright protected and downloading is not permitted.

Most of the images in my Photostream are for sale. If you are interested in making a purchase, please contact me for pricing information. Do not copy and use my images on any websites, blogs or other media without my permission ~ Thank you.

One doesn't have to spend a long time viewing John's photostream before being struck with the impression that here is a photographer with extraordinary artistic gifts and technical know-how! His choice of subjects, the way he composes his images, the excellent clarity achieved, and the wonderful lighting effects he uses, all show much talent, thoughtfulness, and careful attention to every aspect. His photos are not simply a lovely record of a scene or object, but almost always convey a mood or atmosphere as well. One never feels like his superb photos are a result of a happy accident, but instead that of deliberate planning and skillful execution. Even though my own photographic interests lie primarily in the area of close-up nature, and John's seem more in the area of nostalgia, landscapes, and architecture, I always admire and appreciate his work, because of its superb quality and artistry. In addition to being a wonderful photographer, John has also been a wonderful flickr Contact, who has shared helpful information and encouraging comments on my posts during the year we've been acquainted. Thank you, John! It's Contacts like you who make flickr such an enjoyable experience!
