I live in southern Germany near Stuttgart and work at a agency that makes environmental impact asessments. The groups I am working with are birds, dragonflies and freshwater invertebrates.

Birdwatching is my hobby since the age of 9. In the last years I traveled abroad to gain more experience.

Photography was almost always part of that hobby.

I started photography with a EOS 5 during the non-digital age. My first DSLR was the EOS 400D, in 2009 I upgraded to the EOS 50D. My latest body is the incredible EOS 7D mark II. Until some years ago I shot most of my pictures with the EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS USM. Then I bought a secondhand 500 mm 4.0 which is now my favourite lens for bird-photography.

In the last years I also started taking pictures of people (on location and in a studio) and playing around with some Strobist stuff.
