I live in Leiden, the Netherlands, which is the oldest university town in the country. It is a lovely place with a historic atmosphere and typically Dutch canals.
I became enthusiastic about photography when back in 2007 I replaced my old Canon Powershot A70 with a Pentax K100D just before a vacation to Canada; I have been experimenting a lot with it since then and have discovered that landscape photography is my favourite.
Currently I mostly use a multi-purpose lense, a Sigma 18-200 mm, which is quite practical to avoid dragging a lot of stuff around everywhere you go, but of course is not ideal for every circumstance. I also have a 50 mm lens which I use more for portraits, which I hardly ever post on Flickr though.
I am quite enthusiastic about Flickr; of course I like comments like everyone; I do prefer the useful ones over the gratuitious ones though - but of course I have a life away from Flickr too, so sometimes I could do much better myself in that sense. I try to comment on the pictures of my contacts from time to time. I'm sorry if I do not always do that regularly enough, again, we are all busy, aren't we?
I don't take it lightly when people use my pictures without asking, so please don't. Some of my pictures are licensed to Getty and they do chase picture thieves!
