I was born in Massachusettes, rasied in New Hampshire, and moved to North Carolina about 15 years ago now and met my beautiful wife Toni and have now been married for 13 years. We have two beautiful children AJ & Jami whom I would give up the world for. My passion for photography started in 2007 when I got this shot up at a lake behind my house and I have been hooked on it ever since.

Mmm Breakfast

I still use the same camera that I used back then which is a Sony H2 (point & shoot.) Someday I hope to graduate to the big boy camera (DSLR) but until then I am happy with my Sony. Macro is a very big passion for me. I love getting shots of insects, and if I can get them on my hand or arm somehow and keep them there long enough to get the shot off then that's an extreme rush for me!!!

I truly belive that my contacts are the greatest treasure here on flickr and will always be very thankful for their continued support and friendship. I will always comment on their photos (if they download a lot at a time I will pick two or three of my favorites) and have sometimes spent quite a bit of time in front of the monitor catching up when I have been away for a couple days.

Anyway to wrap this up (which has gone longer than I thought it would) I will be the big 40 in June of 2011 and will hopefully (God willing) still be out there shooting for the next 40 years after that!!!!

Thank you for taking the time out of your busy days to read and learn a little more about me.

He's always there to help with insect ID's.. surely anything else you may need help with too. I enjoy seeing his finds in the insect world (insects don't include arachnids, right..;). It always amazes me how he can hold so many of the critters he finds.... he is truly an animal whisperer.... speaks to his gentle & patient soul. Keep up the fine work, Joe!! We'll keep viewing.

His insect shots are amazing and many times the insect is sitting on his hand! If you ever want to see one of the most amazing insect shots on Flickr, visit Joe's photostream and check out the Eastern Tiger Swallowtail shot. Once again, amazing work. He also has wonderful shots of frogs, butterflies and other nature photos. It's a pleasure to know him and I count him as a friend.
