Hello, My name is Joe Cashin I am a photographer based in South Kilkenny, South East Ireland. Thank you for visiting my web site.
One of my contacts on Flickr has described my pictures as traveller’s pictures from around Ireland. I think that is a nice way of explaining most of my pictures. Another friend called me a compulsive photographer, as I take pictures of almost everything.
I have been a keen photographer most of my life and the digital camera era has sparked off new interest for me during the past few years.
I am a member of the Carrick Camera Club in Carrick on Suir Co. Tipperary, and i have exhibited my images with the club on many occasions over the past few years.
Some of my pictures have won awards and competitions, others have been runner up’s in National competitions. I was runner up in the RTE weather pictures for Spring 2011 and made the final 12 the previous year, from thousand's of entries. Three pictures have been shown as weather pictures on TV3 Ireland and 2 on RTE weather, as well as International and Satellite TV stations I have exhibited eleven times with the Camera club, and I hope to do a solo exhibition sometime soon.
My pictures have been used for web sites, 10 book covers, books, school books, memorial cards, wedding invitations, wedding invitations, calendars, photo books, Irish Tourism ,office décor, calendars, post cards, a phone book cover, and some of them look real nice when they are mounted or framed in larger sizes. They also make nice gifts.
On Tuesday January 29th I was the photographer for the TV show "Don't tell the bride" it was a pleasure to cover this wedding.
I am working presently for myself and I am also a call out photographer with the Waterford based newspaper The Munster Express.
Thanks for browsing through my images and do come back soon. I have Almost 4 million views here, with daily views of around 3,000 on various pictures, some old and some recent.
If you make one of my pictures a favourite and leave no comment and have no pictures yourself I will block you.
I do not understand why people have no pictures but just add other people’s pictures as favourites. Some also just place a comment to say that my details are incorrect.
MY main hobbies are photography, listening to short wave radio, music - mostly Folk, Country and some electronic music, cycling road and off road.
ALL the pictures here are MY property, with the exception of a few old pictures,(They are identified) if you wish to use any of them or buy some please contact me. If you steal any of them, I love a chase and a legal battle, BUT I always win, as the pictures are MINE.

About Joe, well he takes loads of photos which are immediately appealing. Whether they be a virtual tour of Ireland by means of postcard perfect shots, or the humorous and unusual things he finds that no-one else sees, or the seasonal aberrations to the landscape and flora etc. he keeps us all interested and wondering where he's been. His candid shots can be hilarious, but I wonder if he'll meet his match one day and get flattened by a handbag! One hopes not :-) Joe is the reason I'm on Flickr. I came across his stream while researching material for a project and we got to be friends through it. I followed his uploads for a long long time before his nagging finally had me uploading my own feeble attempts, though from his and other Flickr friends and pals, I'm learning a lot and improving. He is a friendly person with a heart of gold and a lovely family, whom I've met too. He goes out of his way to help others and so it's very easy to help him out with bits of information back.

I knew Joe in Flickr back in 2006 but gradually I was out of flickr due to some reasons e.g. job commitments ,family life , bit of studying and mad addictions to online forums . I never thought I will come back to flicker again . I give the biggest credit to Joe because even in many months or over a year I was out ...like a long dead and faded away flickr persona , out of the blue , Joe was ever so thoughtful to drop me some very kind lines which rekindles the flicker spirit . It was like Joe visiting a dead flickr friend and lighting a candle , lol . Even though I haven't meet Joe in person but I think Joe is a remarkable personality , with a great character , very thoughtful , a flickr friend with a BIG kind heart , a very perceptive person . I enjoy Joe's incredible photostream . Apart from his great talents and photo impressions shared with us , the extent of Joe's photos isn't only limited within the visual aesthetics of photography , but of photos that reaches out even you're outside of the flickrworld ; photos which have good 'meat' content within and meaning . I haven't visited Ireland, but when looking through Joe's photos they are enriching ,it's like virtually travelling in Ireland , a very beautiful country to visit . It is in my list of countries to see someday. My sincere thanks to you Joe of your very kind thoughts when I was out of flickr. Here I go flickring again ;-)) Your flickr friend elane

He brings out a nostalgic feeling in this Irish American despite the fact I have never been to Ireland. Past conversations with and memories of my grandparents are often summoned when viewing some of Joe's work ... and that is most greatly appreciated. More important, Joe is a gentleman and a great guy who will always take the moment to acknowledge your visit and answer any question which may be posed. Thanks for sharing your work Joe, it is greatly enjoyed by many.
