During a trip to Cuba in 2009 I caught a glimpse of a gorgeous fish and my interest in reefs and the marine ecosystem was ignited. In March 2010 I ventured to Dahab in Egypt and completed my PADI Scuba Diver course with the amazing Poseidon Divers, who got me through my anxiety and provided me with some amazing dives.

In November 2010 I finally managed to convince my boyfriend to book a 'once in a lifetime trip' to the Maldives, which had been my dream destination for years, even before I could dive. In May 2011 we took off for Vilamendhoo, a newly refurbished resort in the South Ari Atoll. During our two weeks there I upgraded to an Open Water Diver and spent countless hours diving and snorkeling in the warm clear waters. It was during this holiday that I knew I wanted to take underwater photography more seriously.

In March 2012 I will be taking an underwater photography course with a lovely lady called Maria Munn and have recently purchased a great new underwater set up in the form of the Canon S95 and Ikelite housing, it will be a while before I move on to the land of strobes and lenses as I need more dive experience first, but I am really looking forward to my next diving experiences (Kenya March 2012 and Reethi Beach, Maldives in June 2012).

Oh yes, going to the Maldives is an addictive habit!
