I photograph objects that most people wouldn't give a second glance to but always seem to stop me dead in my tracks. It may be a classic car’s swooping fender, a row of carousel horses waiting for another go-round or an old motel sign with blinking neon announcing “vacancy”. My photographs may look like they were taken long ago in another place but that image of the tilt-a-whirl isn't from 1950’s Coney Island. It’s the ride you threw up on last summer at the Stark County Fair. That motel sign is the one that you pass by every week on Lincolnway? It looks familiar, but you’re not sure where you have seen it before. These objects may be a little old and a little weathered but they are a part of our past and my goal is for you to take a second glance at them in the present.
