My illustrations are produced digitally on a macbook but they all start with a piece of paper, a pencil and paint.

I sketch ideas in my favourite sketchbooks from Lovely Designs (the reused papers help to overcome that "blank page fear").

Inspiration comes from everywhere; snippets of overheard conversations, vintage advertising, my collection of beautiful thrift store objects, vintage children's book illustrations, the vast sourcebook of images here on Flickr, but mostly from a nostalgic ideal of childhood.

I graduated with a BA(hons) degree in Fine Art from Falmouth School of Art and now lecture in Art & Design in Jersey.

All of my work is rooted in drawing, I use Flickr to post pages from my sketchbooks with my own drawings and pages from my scrapbooks with other artists work that inspires my practice. And I use all your comments to (hopefully) improve my work and ideas.

I live in the Channel Islands, UK. In a little house by the sea. I work in a sketchbook and on a macbook because my house is too small (and too full) for a studio.
