Witnessed the photo explosion of the 70's: Frank, Callahan, Friedlander, Winogrand, followed by Robert Adams, Lew Baltz, Henry Wessel, William Eggleston, Joel Meyerowitz, Ed Ruscha, Ken Josephson, etc (including Gibson, MIchels, Les Krims, Jan Groover). There was Camera magazine, Light Gallery & of course MOMA. What a time. Built a darkroom, bought a Leica M5, hung out with the photography crowd in Chicago, and took pictures. After 10 years or so got married, had kids, lost the darkroom., Sold the film camera 5 or 6 years ago. Retired, bought 2 small Leica digitals. Found flickr. So much easier today. Trying to stop "looking" and start "seeing." Tho the technicals are easier, it is as hard as ever to assert a personal vision. It's a wonderful challenge.
