I’m a documentarian photographer with the occasional artistic streak.

I hold a degree in anthropology with a specialization in archaeology. I also have a strong interest in human geography. I’m fascinated with places, their history, and how people inhabit and use them, with a particular eye to my Appalachian home. To that end, my photography covers a wide range of subjects, including but not limited to:

•Natural landscapes

•Buildings and other architecture

•Signs and monuments

•Technology, objects, and other “artifacts”

I want my photos to be useful for artists, students, and researchers. That’s why, unless otherwise noted, all of my photos are available at their original resolution under a Creative Commons 3.0 Attribution, non-commercial license. I also dabble in cartography and GIS, so expect some maps on here from time to time.
