Jim Salge is an aspriring nature photographer based in Southern New Hampshire, dedicated to capturing subjects in great light. He enjoys hiking and backpacking, and extensively scouts locations to bring the most to every photograph. Most of the shots are taken in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, where he feels a deep conection to the landscape.
Jim has been refining my skills behind the lens for about 5 years. He began shooting while working at the Mount Washington Observatory, and was motivated to improve by the desire to accurately capture the beauty surrounding him.
Jim shoots with a digital SLR camera, but makes extensive use of filters when shooting to control the light during difficult exposure. He finds great joy in traditional techniques and strives to get the exposure right in camera, and to process the image to the most natural look possible.
