I first discovered the joys of Flickr in 2007 and then took part in the 365/366 self portrait challenge in 2008. I also made photography my career during this period and worked as a press and PR photographer for 4 years. Due to events in my personal life over the following few years I fell out of love with photography, sold all my camera gear and stopped using the site.
In 2017 I was given the opportunity to shoot a Blink 182 gig which resulted in me sourcing new kit, and my love for photography was reborn. I still wasn't posting here due to having and using social media. However, at the end of 2019 our world changed with the news of a new virus that would quickly spread across the world and lead to a pandemic. This virus will become a talking point for our grandkids, so I want to document where I was and what I was doing as events unfold. Flickr for me was the ideal place to do that.
So as we move into 2020 I plan to use Flickr as an extension to social media, a place where I can document my adventures as I grow old disgracefully with my partner in crime.
