My Artist's Statement
My work explores the relationship between the tyranny of ageing and skateboard ethics. With influences as diverse as Derrida and Roy Lichtenstein, new synergies are generated from both simple and complex layers.
Ever since I was a student I have been fascinated by the unrelenting divergence of meaning. What starts out as contemplation soon becomes corroded into a cacophony of power, leaving only a sense of nihilism and the unlikelihood of a new reality.
As subtle derivatives become reconfigured through frantic and academic practice, the viewer is left with a testament to the edges of our culture.

So, about me...
I'm a retired professional speaker who specialized in sales and use taxes. And yes, it's WAY more complicated than you think. I've been in accounting and technology sales for the rest of my career. I have enjoyed photography for over 60 years, have sold a few photos, and have done the occasional photography class. However, I prefer to maintain my amateur status. I have been fortunate to work all over the USA. I literally have worked, slept, and taken pictures in all 50 states. 😇
Equipment
Currently, my prime camera is a Nikon Z7 with five native lenses. But I also have used Canon and Sony point and shoots, as well as my cell phone. I'm not into gear. Some of you are and that's fine. But remember that Chase Jarvis once said, "The best camera is the one you have with you." I agree. Convince me he's wrong. 😁
Engagement on Flickr
I don't do reciprocal follows, faves, and comments. And I don't expect them in return. My comments, faves and follows are genuine. And I'm a pretty taciturn guy. I don't comment a lot. But I mean 'em when I write 'em. So you got that going for you. Which is nice.
I will actually try to look at the photostream of anyone who comments or faves one of my pictures, or who has followed me (unless the picture has been explored - too much to deal with). And I'll comment, fave or follow if I see something I like, but I'm very, very fussy. And if I DO follow you, I'll look at your latest stuff every day or so. Because of this, I try to keep the accounts I'm following to a manageable number. Hence the reason I don't do reciprocal follows. If I follow you, it's because I like what you post.
And to repeat: I don't care if you follow me back. And all I promise to do, if you fave or comment, is to look at your photostream.
Please don't place images in the comments other than thumbnails (100pix longest side). Anything larger and I'll probably delete it. This doesn't apply to active conversations we're having and the picture is relevant. I'll also delete comments that are political or intended to be provocative. I'm not interested in wasting time arguing online. If you want to meet at a neutral spot, have a cup of coffee, and argue; I'm good with that.
If your profile or photostream indicates you're "looking for love", you'll be blocked. I'll also block if your photostream consists mainly of naked people. And If you excessively fave or comment on pictures to get reciprocal faves and comments, a blockage may be in your future. 😮
Groups I administer
I currently administer 30 groups. But I only pay attention to about 10 . Please feel free to stop by:

Pictures of Me
Sadly, I've taken a lot of these.
Social Media
I'm trying to post my pictures on Twitter / X concurrently with posting on Flickr.
I rarely post pictures on Facebook but I visit at least once a day. And I periodically post a link to a collection of recent pictures I've posted here. www.facebook.com/jimfrazierpresents
Thanks for viewing my photos. All those comments, views and favorites make me feel all warm and fuzzy. I'm glad you enjoy them.

Jim is the quintessential renaissance man of photography. With much experience he gladly helps others and manages several flickr group including the West Suburban Chicago Flickrers, a very active group of photographers. I particularly enjoy how he documents the places he travels in photographs. Often very artistic and always technically top notch, I recommend his photostream to you for a great variety of photographic subjects, techniques and, best of all, a wonderful sense of humor.
