The art of light and the beauty of connection - to the landscape, nature, and the positive flow and exchange of creative energy. Photography has been my primary route to connecting with the world and life around me since I picked up my first SLR camera in the 1970s and headed into the woods behind my childhood home near Dayton, Ohio. From 2003 to 2022, I taught photography classes and workshops in Ohio as well as commercial and portrait work. In 2023, I relocated to New Mexico, where I am currently a doctoral candidate in instructional design leadership through Franklin University and working full-time as a Senior Educational Consultant at Central New Mexico Community College in Albuquerque. I have a professional education and background in marketing communications, public relations, and human resources management. I now stay involved with nature and landscape photography as an advanced hobbyist. At my very core, though, is a passion for storytelling, education, and expression through art. My now adult daughters and son keep me inspired and grounded in what matters most. Yoga, cycling, hiking, camping, and skiing keep me healthy. Faith in love, compassion, and paying it forward keep me going.

When touring through Jims photos, I am struck with how much talent he has. His photos show an amazing passion and knowledge of his subjects and a love for what he does. He is an outstanding photographer and someone who is so willing to share his wealth of knowledge with others which is rare in such a competitive field. He inspires me to forge ahead with what I love to do and inspires me to learn and be better. I have been lucky to meet Jim and see his awesome studio and I would never hesitate to recommend him to anyone....everyone should be able to view the world through his eyes and experience the warmth and joy he has with the world around him. Thanks Jim for being a "top bloke" as we would say in Australia and for being the best person you can be.
