Hello! My photography is mainly centred around transport. I also photograph buildings (particularly shops and supermarkets), roads and occasionally street photography. I don't feel my photography is limited by my hobbies, so purely random items may appear from time to time!
My main hobby is buses, I have been a keen bus enthusiast since I joined Flickr in 2015. I'm constantly improving my photography "skills", so admittedly some of my older shots aren't the best. Of course, even some of my most recent photos aren't perfect either - any constructive feedback is always welcome!
Current Photography Equipment: Nikon P900, Huawei VOG-L09 / P30 Pro
Past Equipment: Nikon B700, Canon PowerShot SX170, Samsung WB1100F, Huawei VTR-L09 / P10, Sony E5603 / Xperia M5, Samsung i9300 / Galaxy S3
I live in Oxford, and have done all my life, so the majority of photos appearing on this site will be from in and around the city. I'm often travelling around the UK though, so don't be surprised if my stream is filled with photographs from other places.
All photos appearing on this site have been taken by myself, unless explicitly stated otherwise and the original owner credited to the best of my ability. This also means I retain copyright and "all rights reserved" on all photos on this site bar any stated as not my own. Please respect this copyright, and do not use any of the photos appearing on my site without my permission.
Feel free to share them though, by hitting the 'share' button or simply copying the photo URL! If you wish to use any of my photos for a legitimate reason, please send me a private message and I'll be more than happy to discuss.
My transport photos generally follow a set format for their titles and descriptions. It's evolved over the years as I've developed the site, but all photos will contain at least the registration and/or photo location. I use shorthand 'notes' and abbreviations too - these are mostly for my own benefit, as Flickr is my database especially for keeping track of vehicles I've got photos of. These include:
Any number in brackets (1) (2) etc, indicate where I have more than one photo of a particular subject, i.e. views of a bus or shots of a building.
(R) denotes rear view of a bus, and (side) (or (side profile) in older photos) denotes side views of buses.
Buses in the condition of a previous owner have the company name prefixed with (ex.) and the former operator, followed by the current operator in brackets.
TP followed by numbers/letters is a trade plate, carried by vehicles often new on delivery or being transferred.
Certain buses have a 2 letter code in square brackets. These are:
[ME] - Megabus vehicles
[NX] - National Express vehicles
[PV] - Preserved vehicles
[DT] - Driver Training vehicles
Some photos are coded according to type / use. These are:
(LO-EV) - all Emergency Vehicles
(LO-HH) - Heavy Haul / Wide Loads etc
(LO-Sup) - Supermarket / retail etc
(LO-MoD) - Ministry of Defence / army use etc
(LO-Edd) - Eddie Stobart
(LO-WST) - WS Transport
Stagecoach bus photos have their own text in brackets to denote a regional operating area. These are (but not limited to):
(Ox) - Oxfordshire
(London) - London
(W) - West
(E) - East
(SE) - South East
(SW) - South West
(Mids) - Midlands
(E Mids) - East Midlands
(S Wales) - South Wales
(Yorks) - Yorkshire
(Man) - Manchester
(Mers) - Merseyside
(E Scot) - East Scotland
