Hi. Welcome. If you are a student, chat with me here:
Bio Brief: Jim Austin was born in Portland, OR, grew up in Denver, Colorado, and lived in Kyoto, Japan. His photographic career started in the early 1970s with a portrait business. He covered news in college at the Rhode Island School of Design. Since then, he has shot commercial, portrait, wedding, magazine and fine art assignments. He taught photography and digital imaging at Colorado University and now teaches students worldwide courses in photography, Photoshop, and beginning film and digital imaging at Jim Austin Jimages One on One.
WHAT I DO: I photograph.
I specialize in teaching and coaching photographers in mindful seeing.
We can work together online and with social media or a 6, 10, or 20 week learning experience. More on Coaching here: www.jimages.com/1-on-1-Coaching.php
I teach creative composition, light, software, learning your camera, taking your photography to the next level. If you want to get support for your photography vision, learn Photoshop and Lightroom, you've found a coach who'd like to work together.
What do we work on?
We concentrate on you, your images, and your goals. The way to find a teacher is to work with someone who puts your process first, not their own.
YOU: You can take a general photo course, Lightroom or Photoshop, or Elements creative photo course with me. I've been teaching photographers around the world, online, and was a digital photography teacher, on the faculty at Colorado University in Colorado, USA , for 5 years.

What impresses me about Jim's pictures is the great range of his abilities. He is an original and highly skilled photographer who is also willing to take his images as far as his imagination can extend them with some super digital manipulation. That's the constant appeal of his site - you never know what to expect.
