I am Jim. I once had a Fotopic site, but after that went by the wayside I decided to give Flickr a spin. I upload phots on an extremely ad hoc basis; expect to see little more than platform-end snaps, some civil aircraft, some buses and some inexplicable nonsense.
People have described me as narcissistic, cynical, pessimistic, procrastinative and extremely dry... but that's enough self-aggrandisement. I was a bog-standard "platform end" trainspotter until school-leaving age, at which point pop culture and "other things" became the greater distraction. Some years later (circa 2002) I got back into the hobby proper, only to discover to my horror that the UK scene had become extremely boring, so I now look further afield for my railway kicks. I like travelling around and looking at things, but I dislike people* so behave like a hermit most of the time. As several previous employers have noted, one thing I lack is presence of mind, so it's a minor miracle I have anything to show for these decades of camera-ownership. I'm also lucky enough to work in the rail industry, which has not helped my demeanour one tiny bit...
* Not you though, you're alright.

And by the way; you are more likely to see a Belgian vertical-boiler tram engine in my photo's than a Class 66.

A LITTLE NOTE ABOUT CONTACTS. This seems to be a bone of contention for some Flickrites, so here is my stance on the subject; If I add you as a Contact it means I like your pictures. I don't "expect" to be added in return - it would be gratifying of course, but I won't be in the least bit bothered if you don't. Likewise you shouldn't be offended if you add me but I don't add you. This is not primary school, so get over it and move on. Cheers!
