I sincerely believe that had Kevin lived in another age, he still would have been an artist. I see him as a Renaissance man painting with tempera; I see him putting chisel to stone along side Donatello; I see him designing a grand Cathedral in Europe; I see him in an artist's coffee house in 1880's Paris, planning an exhibition with other great Impressionists. Every age of fine art may be seen in the photographs he creates. All the great masters of all the genres of art over the last 700 years are represented in his work. They would most certainly welcome him as a peer. The most important thing about him is this simple fact: jikido-san is a good man. I am honored to know him as a mentor and a friend.

longing to write a testimonial for my dear friend jikido-san for some time, have yet to find the right words.. so am offering these. kevin's images are inspired.. and so they bring inspiration. because he is such a truly fine photographer .. and even more because he has such a generous, open heart .. one can swim in this clear flowing photostream and discover boundless treasures... each one, a Gift. the variety of his work is astounding.. from a sacred image of Mother Mary or Buddha which glows from inside.. to architectural compositions that can make one gasp.. to a garden of vivid dahlias with the whisper of a mountain behind, almost not seen.. to an abandoned train whose colorful boxcars appear as prayer flags.. to snapshots of his family of dogs & friends which spark something strong, even gorgeous, within one's own heart.. to images which unveil the quality of light.. to visual descriptions which find the very essence and soul of his oregon city.. to intimate peeks into blossoms that unfold each petal's fragrance... sometimes we are gifted with jikido-san's own words or the words from songs or poems he has chosen to meld with an image-gift.. when this happens, one soars into Light * his heart is as big and warm and generous as the sun. (once kevin wrote "if you need anything at all, please call us first." .. and its the word 'first' that reveals the authenticity of his offering and the wideness of his soul.) his heartful messages on my images are my most treasured. i love him. as he says about the source of all (of which he is a shining ray) ...
