Established by the Department of Defense (DoD) in 2006, the Joint IED Defeat Organization (JIEDDO) stands at the forefront of the war against improvised explosive devices, leading the nation's and our allies' charge to save life, limb and eyesight by outthinking and outmaneuvering a cunning adversary.

JIEDDO leads DoD actions to rapidly provide Counter Improvised Explosive Device capabilities in support of the Combatant Commanders and to enable the defeat of the IED as a weapon of strategic influence.
