About Jim Hatchett- He grew up in the shortgrass prairie country of southwestern Oklahoma(Greer County) and still considers it home. He is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and has been a loyal "Cowboy" fan for more than 50 years.

He is a Naturalist and retired research scientist (entomologist-plant geneticist). His interests include nature and western photogaphy, western art and history, Native American art and history, history of the American West and the American Cowboy, and Oklahoma history.

He and his wife live in Manhattan Kansas located in the Tallgrass Prairie of the Kansas Flint Hills and near the 10,000 acre Konza Prairie Conservancy where most of his nature photography is done.

In his photography, he strives to capture the natural beauty of landscapes and plant and animal life of North American Prairies, especially of the tallgrass prairie of Kansas.
