I have been interested in photography for over 30 years, since before I was a teenager. During the late 90's, I took a brief hiatus from photography, but returned in a big way when digital cameras became more affordable and more full-featured. I purchased my first digital camera in late 1998, when the first affordable cameras cross the 1MP mark. I moved back to digital SLR's in 2002, and have been passionately pursuing my photography since then. I am very interested in night photography, and love to shoot the night sky--especially the aurora borealis and the milky way. My other key areas of interest are nature and wildlife, particularly macro, as well as landscape and architecture photography.

During a brief period from 2008-2013 I moved to shooting primarily with Leica digital rangefinders, first an M8.2 and then the M9 and M9-P. The rangefinder suits my style of shooting well, and is a very compact kit for travel, which is very important to me. It's also an outstanding landscape camera, particularly when hiking into the backcountry. However, when my travel schedule eased up in late 2012 and I started my new business, I decided to pare down my kit and I sold off the Leica gear. Currently I use a Sony RX-100 for my "portable" kit and the rest of my work is currently done with a pair of Sony A1's.
