JACKSON FEDERATION OF TEACHERS PARAPROFESSIONALS AND SCHOOL RELATED PERSONNEL -- AFL-CIO

The mission of Jackson Federation of Teachers Paraprofessionals and School Related Personnel is to form a more effective union by training and informing the membership of its rights, benefits, and responsibilities; to create a climate of respect and support for high standards of conduct and achievement; to prepare students for equal and responsible citizenship; and to improve the working conditions of school employees.

JFT/PSRP is a union of professionals.

We consist of all employees in Jackson Public Schools in non-administrative positions.

We have a locally elected executive board including a full-time president with office hours Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

JFT/PSRP is affiliated with the American Federation of Teachers, AFT MS and Central MS Central Labor Council.

We are an affiliate of the MS AFL-CIO and we proudly join 30,000 union members statewide.

JFT/PRSP members enjoy free conferences, professional developments, and workshops such as Benefits, Rights and Responsibilities many with CEU credits.

Our members attend numerous seasonal and social activities.

JFT/PSRP members are represented at the school board meetings as well as the state Capitol.

Our members gain a voice with the union. If we work together to change a policy or handle an issue; the voice will be louder and stronger.
